Junior Web Developer / Designer

Duties and Responsibilities

The Junior Web Developer supports our web development team in designing, maintaining and updating the look and functionality of our ADDY award-winning website. The position requires ongoing production of new web interfaces, graphics and flash assets. Beyond web design the Junior Web Developer also assists in the GUI development for our award-winning line of digital music solutions.

Required skills

  • Expert proficiency in HTML with CSS (hand-coding), JavaScript and PHP
  • Hands-on programming experience with AJAX, XML, XSLT, DHTML, and Java programming.
  • Experience integrating front-end code with server-side scripting technologies (i.e. CGI/PERL, PHP etc.). Must be able to validate requirements, conduct system design, develop SQL queries, and perform front-end development using PHP.
  • Good understanding of relational SQL or object-oriented database technologies
  • Familiar with web server platforms, protocols, and applications including Apache
  • Experience with e-commerce/billing web technologies
  • Experience with VSS/CVS systems and bug management, bash scripting.
  • Experience with Flash MX animation authoring and Action Scripting
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator a plus
  • Knowledge of web standards and cross-browser development

Education & experience

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or relevant field.
  • At least 2 years of professional web design experience.
