Public Relations Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
The Public Relations Manager will manage media relations and Public Relations programs for Olive's award-winning line of HD music servers and will raise the company's visibility among writers, searchers, and media analysts by putting together and executing on an aggressive communications plan and managing Olive's social media strategy.
Required skills
- Proactively and independently drive Olive's presence and message across multiple channels.
- Develop and execute a tactical PR plan and maintain a media and events calendar.
- Write and coordinate distribution of all press materials.
- Maintain and develop Olive's media and analyst relationships.
- Closely manage product reviews and develop supportive material.
- Monitor press and blog coverage of the company and competitors.
- Keep a constant flow of updates on significant product rollouts and events like contests to secure local, regional, national and international, electronic and print media (radio, television, newspaper, magazine and online) feature coverage, reviews and listings.
- Develop, propagate and leverage Olive's initiatives including industry forums, Facebook, Twitter, Digg, and other emerging platforms.
- Submit and lobby for relevant industry awards and gift guides.
- Collect, archive and internally distribute all media clips and electronic coverage.
Qualifications
- BS or BA in English, Communications, Journalism, Business or Marketing. MBA a plus.
- 3-5 years implementing creative Public Relations programs for technology hardware products. Demonstrated track record in proactive communication, creative placement, and product PR.
- Active, well-maintained journalist contacts and analyst relationships. Solid professional reputation and credibility within the PR community is a must.
- Knowledge of new communications models, including blogs and social networks.
- In-house and agency experience is preferred.
- Ability to communicate and effectively deliver product messages to act as a company spokesperson.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
- SF Bay Area based - authorized to work in the U.S.
- Some travel may be required.
