• Wie verbinde Ich meinen Olive mit meinem Netzwerk?
  Falls Ihr Olive keine Netzwerkverbindung herstellen kann, überprüfen Sie bitte vorab, dass Ihre Netzwerksicherheitseinstellungen mit dem Olive kompatibel sind. Insofern Ihr Router mit einer Installations-CD geliefert wurde, führen Sie diese bitte erneut aus und wählen Sie während der Neuinstallation eine Verschlüsselung aus der unten aufgeführten Liste aus. Für diverse andere Router berufen Sie sich bitte auf die Bedienungsanleitung Ihres Gerätes, um die kabellose Netzwerksicherheitseinstellungen anzupassen.

  • Verwenden Sie ein kabelloses oder kabelgebundenes Netzwerk?
  • Was für eine Art Router verwenden Sie? (Marke, Modell & b/g/n Typ)
  • Was für eine Verschlüsselung verwenden Sie?
  • Betreiben Sie mehrere Netzwerke simultan?
  • Wieviele Geräte sind mit Ihrem Netzwerk verbunden? Um was für Geräte handelt es sich hierbei?
• Was sollte ich tun, wenn ich mich in das Netzwerk aber nicht in das Internet einwählen kann?
  Bitte überprüfen Sie zuerst, ob es diversen anderen Geräten (Computer, Mobiltelefon, etc.) möglich ist, eine Internetverbindung herzustellen. Insofern andere Geräte eine Verbindung herstellen können und Ihr Olive nicht, dann ist es möglich, dass Ihr Olive nicht die korrekte DNS-Adresse Ihres Routers bezieht. Um dies zu korrigieren, müssen etwaige Netzwerkinformationen manuell eingegeben werden.
  
  Um die Netzwerkinformationen von Ihrem PC auszulesen, folgen Sie bitte nachstehenden Schritten:

  1. Navigieren Sie zu CONTROL PANEL
  2. Klicken Sie auf NETWORK CONNECTION
  3. Rechtsklick auf das NETWORK SYMBOL, welches Sie verwenden (Local Area Connection oder Wireless Network)
  4. Klick auf STATUS Option
  5. Selektieren Sie dann den SUPPORT Reiter
  6. Dies zeigt Ihnen die IP-Adresse und DEFAULT GATEWAY Ihres Computers an. Bitte notieren Sie diese. (Die IP-Adresse hat üblicherweise die Form: 192.168.1.2 oder 10.0.1.2 für Apple Router.)
  7. Klicken Sie auf DETAILS, um die DNS Servernummer auszulesen. Bitte notieren Sie diese ebenfalls..
  8. Navigieren Sie nun am Olive Gerät über SETTINGS --> NETWORK INFORMATION -- >NETWORK SETUP --> berühren Sie AUTOMATISCH kurz um auf MANUELL umzuschalten, bestätigen Sie anschliessend und geben Sie die IP-Adresse, Subnetzmaske, Gateway und DNS ein.

  
  

  Um die Netzwerkinformationen von Ihrem Mac Computer auszulesen, folgen Sie bitte nachstehenden Schritten:

  1. Starten Sie das Airport/Time Capsule Utility Programm (unter Applications > Utilities)
  2. Wählen Sie Ihren Airport aus und selektieren INTERNET innerhalb des SETTINGS Menüs
  3. Hier finden Sie Ihre IP-Adresse, Subnetzmaske, Default-Gateway und DNS.
     Bitte notieren Sie diese.
  4. Navigieren Sie nun am Olive Gerät über SETTINGS --> NETWORK INFORMATION -- >NETWORK SETUP --> berühren Sie AUTOMATISCH kurz um auf MANUELL umzuschalten, bestätigen Sie anschliessend und geben Sie die IP-Adresse, Subnetzmaske, Gateway und DNS ein.
• Wie erstelle ich ein Backup meiner Musikbibliothek meines Olives?
  As your music collection grows and you personalize your Olive 4, it is a good idea to make a back up to an external hard drive. Currently Olive products are only compatible with external hard drives formatted in FAT32.
  
  The following list contains external drives pre-formatted in FAT32. Please note that the hard drive you select should be equal to or greater than the capacity of your Olive 4. (i.e. If you have a 1 TB Olive 4, your will need at least a 1 TB external drive or larger.) To start the back up process, from the home screen on your Olive 4, use the following pathway: SETTINGS ---> SYSTEM SERVICES ---> BACKUP
  
  Your Olive 4 will prompt you to connect the external drive using the USB port on the back of your Olive 4. Once connected, the back-up will automatically begin and a red circle will appear in the lower navigation bar on your Olive 4 touchscreen. Please note that a back up may take several hours. You will know that the back up has completed when the red circle has disappeared.
• Was sollte ich tun, wenn der Berührungsbildschirm des Olives schlecht reagiert?
  If your Olive 4/Olive 2 does not respond when you use the touchscreen or navigation buttons, please do a soft reboot by holding down the Standby On/Off button for 5 seconds until the LCD screen turns white. After the system reboots, please take the following pathway from the Olive 4 main menu SETTINGS ---> SYSTEMS SERVICES ---> CALIBRATE TOUCHSCREEN. This will bring you to the touchscreen calibration. Once complete, tap the touchscreen and begin enjoying your music.
• Was sollte ich tun, wenn mein Olivesystem nicht wie gewohnt hochfährt?
  In the rare circumstance that your Olive 4 becomes completely unresponsive or will not properly boot up to the home screen, you most likely need to run a system recovery using the system recovery CD that came with your Olive 4. Should you not be able to locate your recovery CD, you may download the ISO disc image by clicking hereDownload: RecoveryCD.zip

  Please note that running a full system recovery using the recovery CD will completely erase the hard drive on your Olive 4. We strongly recommend that you contact Olive support at 877-296-5483 before starting a system recovery to assess if it is necessary.
  
  To begin the system recovery, please follow these steps:

  1. Power down the Olive 4 completely by flipping the master power switch on the back to the OFF position.
  2. Hold down the PLAY and SELECT buttons (in the middle of all the arrow keys) and flip the main power switch back on.
  3. The screen will then prompt you to insert the recovery CD. Follow the instructions on the LCD to continue.

  
  

  In the event that your Olive 2 becomes unresponsive or prompts you to run a system recovery, you will need to run the system recovery via the USB port in the back. Please download the recovery fileDownload: RescueBackup.bin
  Dateigröße: 14.8 MB to your desktop and copy it to a USB memory stick. The USB stick must be formatted in standard DOS format. Plug the USB stick into the USB port of your Olive 2 and the system will begin the recovery process.
• Warum erscheint das Albumbild nicht, wenn ich eine CD importiere?
  In the event that your Olive 4 does not recognize the CD you are loading for import to your library, please check that your Olive 4 is connected to your network and to the internet. The Olive 4 will automatically attempt to retrieve album artwork from the Olive online database and requires an internet connection. (Click here for instructions on network setup.)
  
  For album artwork that was not automatically imported, you may conduct an internet search (i.e. Google, Yahoo, Bing or Amazon are good album art resources) and manually upload the artwork using MaestroDownload: en_olive_userguide.pdf

  Your Olive 4 imports music information through both the Olive online proprietary database and from the internal database on the Olive 4. Your Olive 4 must have an internet connection to access the online database. In rare cases your CD may not be in the database, thus you will need to manually enter the associated music information through MaestroDownload: en_olive_userguide.pdf

• Was sollte ich tun, wenn meine CD nicht ausgeworfen wird?
  First power down your Olive 4 completely by pressing the green Standby On/Off button until the touchscreen is black. Then switch off the main power on the back on the unit. Hold down the EJECT button and flip your main power switch back on. Continue to hold the EJECT button through the boot-up procedure. The CD should eject once the Olive 4 has booted up.
• Was sollte ich tun, wenn mein Olive meinen USB Stick nicht erkennt (während der Softwareaktualisierung oder einer Recovery)?
  First make sure the file system is FAT32. If the Olive still can't see the USB-Device please re-format the usb-device using an operating system else than Windows 7 or Vista.
• Ich kann keine USB Software Recovery started mit einem mit Windows 7 / Vista FAT32 formattiertem USB Stick.
  The recovery procedure when using a Windows 7 / Vista formatted FAT32 external hard drive is a little different than for use with a drive formatted by other operating systems. To begin the recovery, power the Olive OFF by flipping the switch on the back. Next, connect the USB external hard drive with the necessary recovery files on it to the USB port on the back of the Olive. Before flipping the power switch to the ON position, hold down the Select button and the Down button on the Olive's front navigation buttons. Continue holding the Select button and the Down button and power the Olive ON. The onscreen recovery prompt will automatically initiate the recovery. Be patient as the recovery can take several hours.
• Warum spielt mein Olive nicht von meinem NAS und/oder dem UPnP Server, welcher auf meinem Computer installiert ist, ab?
  Please make sure your NAS/computer has Twonky, TVersity, or XBMC installed since not all UPnP Servers follow the UPnP standard and therefore can't be fully supported.
• Wie verbinde ich den Olive 2?
  The Olive 2 is easy to set-up in any room of your home. See page 8 in our User Guide for detailed instructions.

  WAV, FLAC, MP3 and AAC with sampling rates from 11,000 to 96,000 Hz. Note that you can only create CDs on the Olive 4 in WAV and MP3 (in differentt bitrates).
• Unterstützt der Olive Internet Radio?
  Yes, you'll be delighted with this additional source of music and the chance to replace your traditional radio tuners. Once you've set up the Olive 4 or Olive 2 as part of your network / internet connection, literally thousands of radio stations are available to you. The stations are sorted by genres or regions and public or information based on the Shoutcast directory. You can add new stations or bookmark your personal favorites for easy access.

• Warum wird der Name Olive Opus 4 und Olive Melody 2 nicht mehr verwendet?
  As part of our international growth strategy, we realized that it was more important to focus on our brand name, Olive, and discontinue the use of sub-brand names like Opus and Melody. Our new naming highlights the Olive brand and uses product descriptors (Hi-Fi Music Servers and Hi-Fi Players) that we feel best describe our products. Since we're all about making the enjoyment of high fidelity digital music simple, we decided that our product names should be more simple too. If you own an Opus or Melody, you never know, these may be collectors' items some day.
• Was wurde aus Olive MUSICA, Olive SYMPHONY and Olive SONATA?
  In 2007, Olive adjusted its product naming to focus on the Olive 4 for digital music storage and the Olive 2 for networked players. As such, the MUSICA line was transformed into the Opus No3 and the SYMPHONY line into Opus No3S. The high-end Olive 4 became the Opus No5 and the SONATA was transformed into the Olive 2. The objective was to reinforce the Olive mission to deliver a perfect music experience and to make it easier for customers to distinguish between the products.

  It's our answer to the hassle of bringing all your music into one library for easy access. It takes care of the physical import of the CD audio files as well as adding and grooming the relevant tag information so that your music is well described. We send you a shipping label, you send your CDs in to us, we import your CDs into a groomed music library and send back your CDs and your preloaded Olive 4 - totally hassle-free. • Welche CD-Formate kann der Olive lesen?
  The Olive 4 reads and can import music from standard audio CDs. It can't read SACDs and DVD-Audio.
• Welche Formate kann der Olive speichern?
  WAV, FLAC, AAC or MP3. We suggest that you store your music in the lossless FLAC format, as it maintains the full sound quality of the original recording but requires approximately half the storage space of the original CD WAV file.
• Welche CD-Formate kann der Olive brennen?
  Audio CDs and MP3 CDs.
• Wieviel Musik kann ich auf dem Olive speichern?
  A lot! Refer to this chart on Olive 4 storage capacity to determine which Olive 4 is best for your music collection. In the unlikely event you need additional storage, please contact us to check on available hard disk upgrade programs.
• Kann ich Musikdateien von meinem PC auf den Olive überspielen?
  Yes, the Olive 4 has an import folder that is visible on your home network. Simply drag & drop audio files into this folder and you'll be able to access and play them on your Olive 4. The files must be supported formats and DRM free.
• Kann ich Musik von meinem Apple iPod importieren?
  No, this is a restriction of the iPod.
• Ist es möglich meine LP-Kollektion oder meine Musikkassetten auf den Olive zu überspielen?
  Sure, but you will need to digitize them first. Look on the web for a service to make this easier for you or find an efficient tool to do this yourself.
• Wie organisiere ich meine Musikbibliothek?
  The Olive 4 offers a number of ways to access your music that you should find quite familiar. Each piece of music has tag or metadata information associated with it, such as composer, artist, title etc. This allows you to organize your music around these dedicated fields and to quickly find your music in the the following categories:

  • Genre: what type of music is it, e.g. Classical, Jazz or Rock
  • Composer: Alphabetical list of composers of music
  • Artist: Alphabetical list of performers
  • Album title: Alphabetical list of albums
  • Album cover: Alphabetical view of all album covers
  • Playlists: Personal music selections that you "compose" for different moods and occasions
• Kann ich unterschiedliche Musik in unterschiedliche Räume streamen?
  Yes, the Olive 4 was designed to be both a music library and to distribute music throughout your home. You will need a player, such as the Olive 2, to receive streams in every room in which you want music. The Olive 4 supports up to 10 streams wirelessly or 20 streams through a wired Ethernet connection.
• Warum werden Software Aktualisierungen angeboten?
  Your Olive 4 is a great value because, unlike most stereo components, it improves over time! Our software updates ensure that your Olive 4 offers more features and becomes even easier to use.

Olive 2 Hi-Fi Player

  Because the Olive 2 is fully UPnP standards-based, it performs well in any standard home network environment and can receive music from most networked storage devices.

  Yes! When connected to your home network and the internet, the Olive 2 lets you choose from thousands of pre-set radio stations or to save new ones to your personal favorites.
• Können Netzwerkstörungen eine Rolle bei der Qualität der Musikwiedergabe spielen?
  In wireless networks, there can be interference due to the strength of your network signal and number of devices connecting. If signal reliability and sound quality are paramount to you, consider using a wired connection between your music source and the Olive 2.

Olive 4HD Hi-Fi Music Server

• Mein Olive 4HD gibt keine Musik über die digitalen Ausgänge oder HDMI wieder!
  Please check the settings of the device (e.g. Home Theater Receiver, DAC, Amplifier etc.) that is connected to the Olive O4HD and ensure that it supports playback of HD music formats (such as 24-bit/96, 88.2 or 176.4 kHz). The digital outs on the O4HD always output in 24-bit/96kHz or higher (they up-sample everything, even 16-bit music).
